We have a very special announcement! And while it’s a big win for us and all of our clients, it’s an even bigger deal if you’re located on west-coast of the US or Canada.
Since 2008, to accommodate our west-coast client base, we’ve come to Southern California to deliver coursework in a hotel meeting space five times a year. With so much of our client base on the west-coast it made sense to offer at least some delivery without a requiring a client to take a crosscountry trip. And, as could be expected, our west-coast client base grew over the years to where now it comprises 30% of our overall client roster.
With this in mind, we started looking at a permanent “West Coast Branch Office” location to accommodate this growth. And chances are you’ve probably heard about this possibility at some point over the last few months.
Well, the time is NOW!
Our new West Coast Branch is ready and will open for business on Tuesday, May 30th at 9:30 AM!
1. The office is located in Glendale, California and will function primarily as a courseroom. Seminars will still only be delivered in Florida.
2. Out of all the coursework on the MGE Power Program, you can do all but three courses in the California branch office. Pretty cool, huh?
3. The office is open most Tuesdays through Saturdays. There are a few dates (e.g. holidays and couple of others) where it is closed. Specific hours and schedules follow the attached Q&A.
4. The executives running the office are awesome! They are highly trained and have also spent three months training at MGE in Florida.
5. As we now have a permanent location on west coast, we will no longer be delivering coursework in a hotel. So, our May trip (May 11-13th, 2017 at the DoubleTree in Santa Ana, CA), is our last courseroom trip in a hotel. All future course delivery would happen at our new office.
6. As you can imagine, we have a bunch of schedules to adjust as a result of this change, so expect to hear from Megan Mortimer or Diana Gilbert to get your schedules fixed!
7. Delivery in Florida does not change in any way. This is a branch office that has a specific purpose of making course delivery easier, more efficient and less costly for west-coast MGE Clients. Florida is our “Main” office and will deliver everything it has always delivered in the past. Nothing changes schedule wise or otherwise.

Questions and Answers about the New MGE California Branch Office
Q. When does the office officially open?
The MGE California Branch Office officially opens for business on: Tuesday, May 30th, 2017 at 9:30 A.M.
Q. What prompted MGE to open a California Branch Office?
Not that anyone’s complaining…but some background data might be in order. Since moving into the California (and general west-coast) market in 2006, things have grown quickly! As it stands, a considerable percentage of our client base is on the West Coast, whether it’s California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, etc. So, we knew it was only a matter of time before a permanent presence on the West Coast became a necessity.
In 2014, we made our way into the Canadian market, including Western Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, etc.). Things only grew faster!
If you know us, you know that our number one priority is client service. If there’s anything that we can do to improve the quality of, or efficiency with which our services are delivered…we do it.
So, if there was a way for a client to do a large portion of their MGE training, with:
- No drop off in quality, and
- Less (or no) travel
It would obviously be a needed and wanted thing! It would also make it easier and more cost effective to train your staff. All in all, it would be a win-win for all of us!
So, we worked things out, including how to staff the office and here we are! We hope you guys love it, and we truly admire the heck out of all of you. We’re also very excited about this next step in our mutual expansion!
Q. Where is the new branch office located?
The new office is located on the third floor of a three-story building in Glendale, California. Glendale is a beautiful city, located a little less than 10 miles from Hollywood and a little more than 10 miles from downtown Los Angeles. The address is

Q. I’ll be driving to the office. What about parking?
While there is some first come, first serve street parking (that’s free) near the building, your better bet would be to use one of several parking garages nearby, which are within a 4-5 minute walk and cost approximately between $12 and $15 a day.
Q. How large is the MGE California Branch Office?
We actually have two suites in the building. Our main space (Suite 323) is about 3,000 square feet and holds the courseroom, along with a few offices. We added an additional 1,500 square foot space across the hall that has a kitchenette, eating area, lounge and more room for expansion. So, you can bring lunch, store in the fridge, get a cup of coffee, and have a snack
and relax during course-break, etc., just like in Florida.
Q. What are the hours for the new office?
The MGE California Branch office will be open most Tuesday through Saturdays throughout the year. One Saturday every other month the office will be closed. There are some holiday dates (just like at MGE’s main office), where the office will be closed as well.

Q. How is the new office staffed? Will I see any staff from MGE’s Main (Florida) office out in California?
We’ll start with how the office was staffed.
Of all the considerations involved in opening a branch office, one was most important: How to maintain the expected high level of quality of MGE training and assistance. Other than geography, we wanted your experience in the California courseroom to be no different than if you were studying in Florida. Anything less than ultra-high quality supervision and delivery was unacceptable.
To this end, we had to find quality personnel living in the Southern California area to run the office. These couldn’t be “new trainees.” They had to be trained and experienced executives who could “hit the ground running.” After hire, these highly trained personnel would have to learn the MGE model which would take approximately three months of work and training in Florida.
And we did all of the above. Chances are if you’ve been to Florida these past few months, you’ve met them!
Managing the office as our D/COO for West Coast Operations, is Southern-California native, Ms. Vicky Prince. An outstanding executive with an extraordinary production record, Vicky comes to us with extensive experience in the dental industry (managed an office for 7 years), and corporate America. She is also a highly trained expert in the Management System developed by Mr. Hubbard. Vicky’s skillset includes management, sales training, troubleshooting, hiring, staff training and many other areas. Since coming on board at MGE, she’s apprenticed primarily under Sabri and me. She’s knows her stuff and I’m confident you’ll enjoy working with her. I am completely satisfied that Vicky knows how to get things done and maintain the quality you’ve become accustomed to as an MGE Client. She is currently in California working on opening preps.
To supervise client delivery we have Ms. Diana Gilbert. Diana also comes to us with considerable dental experience along with a great deal of training in the Management System developed by Mr. Hubbard. Since coming on board, Diana’s work has been heavily weighted towards Power Program delivery and she’s become quite a force. I am, again, confident you’ll enjoy working with her. Diana just completed three months of training here at MGE in Florida and is now back in California helping Vicky with opening preparations.
In addition to Vicky and Diana, there will be two full-time Course Supervisors and a Receptionist. We’ll also have additional Course Supervisors on call for heavier traffic weeks.
With regards to staff from the main office in Florida coming to California, yes, you will see many of us cycle through the office over the next 12 months to lend a helping hand. I’ve selected 22 MGE Florida staff that will come out for a week at a time in teams of two as the year progresses, including Sabri, me, Ashley, Chris, Mike, Amy, Andrea, and others. We’ll have the calendar for these visits finalized a week prior to opening if you’d like to coordinate your course trip with a meeting with any of us (i.e. Sabri, Chris, etc.). Q. What services are available at the MGE California Branch Office?
The California Branch office is, in essence, a courseroom. The vast majority of courses offered by MGE can be done at the California Office. If you’re a Power Client and need help, you can also meet with Vicky and/or Diana just like you’d meet with someone here in Florida (i.e. Sabri, Chris, Dania, Shervon, Mary, Devon, etc.).
Q. Which courses are offered at the new MGE California Branch Office? Are there any courses I cannot do there?
All MGE courses can be done in the California Branch Office, with the exception of:
- The Ups & Downs Course,
- The Personal Integrity Course,
- The MGE Executive Internship, and
- The MGE PR Director Internship;
Not bad, eh?
That means all but three of the fourteen courses on the MGE Power Program (Doctor and OM Training), can be done in California! Specialty courses such as the CEO Levels, Marketing Mastery, Surveys and PR Course can also be done in California. A key point: Seminars are not offered in California and can still only be done in Florida.
The only exception would be the MGE New Patient Workshop, which we do in Southern California every few months.
As a side note, the MGE Executive Booster Program can also only be done in Florida.
Q. Can I start a course in California and finish it in Florida (and vice-versa)?
Yes! If you plan on continuing (or completing) a course at another office, make sure to bring your course-pack (book) with you. So, if you’re on course in Florida and plan to finish your course in California, take your book with you when you leave Florida! We keep your checksheet on file, so we’ll take care of that.
Q. What about MGE Seminars?
As mentioned above, MGE Seminars—Communication and Sales Seminars (ABC Seminars), Executive Seminars, Advanced Sales Seminar, etc.—are only done at our Florida Office.
If you’re on the MGE Power Program, you would be able to do much of your course work in California, but would still need to come to Florida for any seminars.
Q. How does the schedule work? (This one’s really important… please read)
As you know, when you sign up for the MGE Power Program (or really any MGE Service), we work early on to schedule all the dates you’ll need to complete the program. For the Power Program this might be a schedule that covers dates through the next year to year and a half.
Prior to this new office, we’ve been coming to California five times a year to deliver course work. The additional training dates and availability this new office creates sort of changes things. And with hundreds of west-coast MGE Power Clients, we have a lot of schedules to change or fix!
It’s OK though…I have a plan!
To handle the traffic generated by these “schedule fixes,” we decided to put one person in charge of the process. Many of you know Megan Mortimer (formerly Blumberg), Megan is Sabri’s (and my) daughter. Prior to becoming my Executive Assistant, Megan was in charge of all client scheduling—so she knows her stuff in this area. She has overall responsibility for the client scheduling aspect of this transition. Diana Gilbert from the California Branch will also be assisting her with this process.
So, Megan, (along with Diana’s help) will be charged with fixing/sorting any dates for training resulting from this new office in your backyard! Expect to hear from Megan or Diana soon. As far as how the schedule would work, I wanted to cover a couple of points.
On the MGE Power Program, you normally have two schedule options:
- Two three-day trips per month, or
- One five-day trip every five weeks.
Of course there are exceptions resulting from extenuating circumstances or commitments which are normally coordinated with MGE Client Services.
Up to now, most West-Coast MGE clients, doing much of their coursework in Florida, have opted for the five-day trip.
And while I leave it to you as to how you want to schedule with the new office in mind, I would assume that most of you, especially those closest to the office will gravitate towards the two three-day trips a month. Some months they may both be in California and others they might be a split.
A few examples:
- If you’re on the Executive Training section of the MGE Power Program, you might spend one three-day block on course at the California Branch Office, and then head out later that month for a three-day trip here to MGE Florida to do your Executive Seminar (and coursework later in the day when the seminar ends).
- If you’re on the Professional Sales Course, you might spend both of your training trips in California that month.
- Or, you may opt to spend a five-day trip training in California that month – or Florida, up to you. I could come up with numerous examples.
In any event, with MGE seminars in Florida, you still have a number of Florida trips in your future; but much less and with the added possibility of shorter trips when you do come. I’ll leave that to you and Megan (or Diana) to sort-out.
I can’t stress the importance of sorting this out quickly. Not least of which for prediction purposes on our end to ensure you get the best service. Megan’s target between her and Diana is to get all schedule fixes completed within six weeks. As a side-note, if you know Megan you know that she is persistent. Believe me, she’s her mother’s daughter and I can personally vouch for their persistence!
The key is to get you through your training as quickly as possible. Time after time it’s proven out that: the speed with which the program is completed has a direct relation to how quickly a client sees results and a statistical response. So keep that in mind.
Q. Are there any hotels near the new office?
Yes! There’s a Hilton about 2/10s of a mile from the office (a 4 minute walk) and an Embassy Suites less than half a mile away (7 minute walk). We’re in the process of negotiating an “MGE rate” for these hotels.
Q. I’m coming in from out of state (e.g. Nevada, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, etc.) Which airport should I use?
The closest airport to the new office is Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California. It’s a little less than 10 miles from the office (about 20 minutes by car with normal traffic). It’s not a big airport, but you can get a non-stop flight from a considerably high number of west-coast cities: Portland, Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Seattle and so on.
Again, it’s not a big airport, but I love it – it’s easy in and out.
You can also, of course, fly into any of the other LA area airports – LAX is about 30 miles away (about an hour or more by car), Ontario Airport is about 40 miles away, again about an hour by car.
Q. Can I bring new staff to train at the office?
Yes, of course! Making it easy to train your staff is, one of the reasons we opened the office! A couple of small qualifiers:
1. Let us know ahead of time if it’s someone’s first trip and,
2. If it’s a staff member’s first trip, they cannot come alone; they need to come with the doctor or your office manager or another office executive THAT HAS DONE MGE TRAINING.

MGE CALIFORNIA BRANCH OFFICE SCHEDULE
The MGE California Branch office is open most Tuesdays through Saturdays, and closed every Sunday and Monday. It’s closed one Saturday a quarter, on a couple of holiday dates and for approximately two weeks at the end of the year. Specific dates can be found below.
