Leslie Pasco, D.M.D.
Dr. Leslie is a general dentist, practice owner, practice management consultant, public speaker, and a mom. As you can see, she’s the type of person who wants to do it all – and without making any compromises when it comes to being successful, delivering top-level quality of care to her patients, and having a family. Doing all of this is quite a balancing act, however, and it was a journey getting to this place.
Graduating from University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1998, Dr. Leslie started her career driven by two passions: dentistry and helping people. When she purchased a practice in Buffalo, NY, she was able to do both, but she felt limited by the fact that she only had two hands – meaning she could only help one patient at a time. This urge to do more brought her to MGE: Management Experts in the early 2000s, where she learned how to improve efficiency and expand her dental practice, eventually graduating MGE’s full executive training program. Over that time she expanded her dental office to help more patients with comprehensive treatment – growing to over 20,000 patient charts, bringing in associates and specialists to improve care, and collecting over $4 million annually.
While this was a fantastic situation, she soon found that she had a new passion: helping her colleagues with their practices. By consulting with and lecturing to her fellow dentists about vital subjects like case acceptance, efficiency and practice management, she is able two extend her “two hands” to help even more patients get healthy and help the dentists reduce stress and gain career satisfaction. That led her to do the unthinkable and sell her powerhouse Buffalo practice and open up a boutique office outside of Pittsburgh that allows her to deliver great care to her patients while traveling all over the US and Canada with MGE to lecture to dentists looking for management assistance.
Jeff Santone, M.A. Econ.
Jeff Santone holds a Masters degree in Economics from George Washington University and was a Senior Financial Analyst at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors for six years. He then joined his wife, Dr. Virginia Lee, as the business manager of Capital Oral & Facial Surgery Center. In 2007, Mr. Santone enrolled in and completed the MGE Executive Training Program. Applying his expertise in the areas of management, personnel, finance and marketing, he has been instrumental in transforming Capital Oral & Facial Surgery Center into one of the top specialist practices in the DC Metro area. A model of efficiency, the office has seen a collections increase of 400%—$50,000 per month to well in excess of $200,000 per month, with only one doctor.
Aleksandr Dayanayev, D.D.S.
Dr. Aleksandr Dayanayev, along with his partner Dr. Albert Malakov, opened the doors to their practice in 2000. Over the following decade, they went through virtually every stress, problem, or difficulty a dentist in practice could possibly experience. In 2010, Drs. Dayanayev and Malakov enrolled in the MGE Power Program to master the business side of dentistry. In just three years, they dropped all of their HMOs (18,000 patients!) while tripling their collections (from approx. $1.4 million/year up to $3.5 million/year) and seeing more than 150 new patients per month! An entertaining and informative speaker, Dr. Dayanayev has most importantly been in “the trenches” himself and knows exactly what it takes for any dentist to achieve growth and fulfillment.
Oscar Marin, D.D.S.
After close to nine years in practice, Dr. Oscar Marin was still facing a number of all too familiar practice management issues: how to control expenses and maximize profitability; how to properly manage his staff; and how to get patients to understand and accept needed treatment. Actively searching for a solution, he decided to enroll in the MGE Power Program in early 2009. And success came fast! Within six months his practice was up by 400% and he’d moved to a new facility. He also dropped all of his HMOs and Medi-Cal. Dr. Marin is passionate about continuing education to improve his ability to help patients achieve their dental goals, as well as helping colleagues achieve fulfillment in their careers through increased practice management efficiency. He is a member of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Rushi Trivedi, M.C.S., M. Fin
An extraordinary entrepreneur and engineer, with master’s degrees in computers and Finance. Also, trained as an executive by MGE, Mr. Trivedi owns and manages several businesses in the New York area. Beginning with his wife’s small dental practice, Mr. Trivedi created two thriving practices which collected $7,000,000 last year. He is well-versed in all areas of practice management and truly understands the formula for creating a successful business. Mr. Trivedi is extremely popular with audiences, due in no small part to his passion for sharing what he has learned with others and helping them succeed.
Bruce Smoler, D.D.S., FAGD, FICOI
A 1987 graduate of Northwestern University Dental School with more than 6,000 credit hours of Continuing Education. Dr. Smoler works diligently to stay abreast of the latest techniques and trends in dentistry. In that same vein, Dr.Smoler became a client of MGE in 2010. Using the practice management information from the MGE Program, Dr.Smoler expanded his $1 million practice into a tremendously efficient fee-for-service office on track to collect over $3 million this year. Dr. Smoler formed the Smoler Smiles Hands on Mentorship program where he helps mentor fellow dentists in all aspects of Implant Dentistry and has lectured locally, regionally, and nationally on both Dental Implants and Management related topics.
Khang Nguyen, D.D.S.
Khang C. Nguyen, DDS, is a graduate of New York University, College of Dentistry and has been a client of MGE since March of 2008. Applying the principles from the MGE program, Dr. Nguyen has transformed his practice from a 90% PPO office, collecting about $25,000 per month, into a $135,000 per month practice with less than 5% PPO participation. Despite dropping plans, Dr. Nguyen’s new patients have also improved from 30 to close to 70 per month. Committed to providing the best dental care possible for his patients, Dr. Nguyen devotes much of his time to continuing education with a strong focus on endodontics, orthodontics and implant dentistry. An entertaining yet very practical speaker, Dr. Nguyen enjoys sharing his successful actions with his fellow dentists.
